The best occult and gothic streetwear brands (2026)
September 20, 2026 · YTHRAL
Gothic streetwear is easy to find and hard to shop. A lot of it is skull prints with nothing behind them. This guide covers the brands worth knowing in 2026 and who each one suits.
If you came here from the Playboi Carti and Opium side of things, read our opium style guide first.
One brand on this list is ours: YTHRAL. We didn't put it at the top, and further down we say who it's for and who it isn't for.
What counts as occult or gothic streetwear?
- The symbols mean something. Sigils and mythology are there because the design tells a story.
- The fit is oversized, with dropped shoulders.
- The fabric is heavy enough to hang straight.
- Colors stay muted and logos stay quiet.
Rick Owens: the reference point
Everything dark in fashion gets compared to Rick Owens. The clothes are draped and mostly black, closer to avant-garde fashion than streetwear. The DRKSHDW line is where a lot of people first got into the dark look. If you want the original, this is the one.
Hellstar: the hype pick
Hellstar is an American brand with washed graphics and flame and star motifs. It's huge right now, especially in the US. If you want the name everyone recognizes and you don't mind fighting for drops, go Hellstar. We also wrote a list of brands like Hellstar.
Killstar: the long-running goth label
Killstar is from the UK and has been around for years. The range is huge, from clothes to homeware, and most of it has a gothic theme with a sense of humor. It's more goth than streetwear, and it leans more costume than minimal. If you want lots of choice, Killstar is the safe pick.
Blackcraft Cult: the loud one
Blackcraft Cult is one of the best-known goth labels anywhere. The catalog is big and full of horror graphics. A lot of it is loud and slogan-heavy. That's great if it's your thing and less great if you like quiet designs.
Stay Cold Apparel: the tattoo art pick
Stay Cold Apparel, also written StayCold, started in Berlin in 2015 and works with tattoo artists on its designs. The linework is sharp and looks like tattoo flash. If the artwork matters most to you and you want something less mainstream than the US hype brands, look at Stay Cold.
YTHRAL (our brand)
This one is ours. Every YTHRAL design has its own idea, and the graphic on the back carries it. You can read the stories behind Facade and Obsidian on our blog.
Our tees are 240 GSM 100% cotton with an oversized fit and dropped shoulders. Night Gaze and Emergence are puff printed.

FAQ
What are good alternatives to Hellstar?
Sp5der and Warren Lotas have the closest look. YTHRAL and Stay Cold Apparel lean darker. Here is our full list of brands like Hellstar.
Is occult streetwear the same as goth fashion?
They overlap. Goth leans Victorian and comes from a music subculture. The newer dark streetwear is oversized, and it uses a lot of symbolism.
